A Childhood Shaped by the Coast

Dawne Lundahl grew up in her beloved hometown of Watch Hill, Rhode Island, a place that shaped her love for coastal life, color, and timeless design. Those early influences stayed with her when she later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Boston and the Illinois Institute of Art.

An award-winning graphic designer, Dawne spent years building her career through her own studio, Dawne Parrilla Design, while also freelancing for major corporations and working with advertising agencies along North Michigan Avenue. Throughout it all, her passion for meaningful design and visual storytelling remained at the heart of her work.

The Wishful Fish was created as a return to those roots—a way to blend her creative journey with the coastal memories, traditions, and quiet moments of Watch Hill that have always felt like home.
